Asian cuisine in London

"The Ivy Asia St Paul's" in London is an impressive restaurant that belongs to the renowned Ivy Collection, delighting guests since its opening in 2019 with a spectacular blend of Asian-inspired cuisine and luxurious ambiance. Located in the heart of the City, just a stone's throw from the world-famous St Paul's Cathedral, it offers a unique escape from the everyday hustle and bustle, making it a popular meeting spot for locals, commuters, and tourists alike. Open seven days a week, the restaurant combines a vibrant atmosphere with a touch of theatricality and has established itself as a staple of the London dining scene, not least due to its stunning views and innovative culinary offerings.

Luxury restaurant in London

The atmosphere at "The Ivy Asia St Paul's" is captivating from the moment you step inside. Upon entering, you are greeted by a striking pink onyx floor that immediately catches the eye, followed by a pink pagoda and impressive wall artworks depicting Japanese landscapes. The main dining room on the first floor is a visual feast: a spectacular floor made of green semi-precious stones contrasts with an antique, gold-leafed counter, while luxurious Asian fabrics and carefully selected artworks adorn the space. Large windows provide an unparalleled view of St Paul's Cathedral, making the experience particularly unforgettable at sunset. In the evenings, live DJs create an energetic atmosphere, transforming the restaurant into a vibrant bar, while during the day it maintains a more elegant and relaxed vibe.

Best cocktails in London

Culinary-wise, "The Ivy Asia St Paul's" takes guests on a journey through the diverse flavors of Asia, with dishes prepared with modern sophistication. A highlight is the "Black Cod," a buttery soft fish coated with a spicy miso glaze and perfectly cooked – a dish that stands out for its intense flavor. Equally popular is the "Duck Massaman Curry," a rich combination of tender duck meat and a creamy, spicy sauce served with jasmine rice, masterfully balancing sweetness and heat. For seafood lovers, the "Yellowtail Sashimi" offers a fresh, delicate option enhanced with soy and a touch of wasabi. The desserts are equally impressive, like the "Mango Dessert Platter," a tropical ensemble of fruity elements and sweet treats that stylishly rounds off the meal.

Theater restaurant in London

The drinks menu is another highlight that reflects the restaurant's theatrical orientation. The cocktails are artfully crafted, with the "Beijing Sling" – a fruity mix with a hint of gin – often highlighted as a favorite. Particularly popular is the "Bottomless Brunch," where guests can enjoy unlimited Prosecco or cocktails with their meals, making the venue a hotspot for weekend gatherings. The wine selection is carefully curated, offering a wide range that complements the Asian flavors of the dishes. For those who want to linger longer, the DJ sets on weekends create an engaging atmosphere that lasts late into the night.

Brunch with live music

Service is generally described as friendly and efficient, with the staff keen to provide guests with a special experience. However, during peak times, such as brunch or evenings with live music, it can get hectic, and the noise level – whether from the music or conversations – can occasionally be perceived as disruptive. Nevertheless, the experience remains positive for most, and the team is flexible in accommodating group arrangements or special requests. For special occasions, there is a stunning private dining room that continues the restaurant's Asian style and is perfect for celebrations.

"The Ivy Asia St Paul's" is deeply embedded in the dynamics of the City, cleverly leveraging its location to attract a wide audience – from businesspeople seeking a lunch break, tourists appreciating the proximity to the cathedral, to groups planning a special evening. The decor is a feast for the senses, with details like 12-foot tall antique Samurai statues watching over the space and thoughtful acoustics that bring the music to the forefront without drowning out conversation. It is a place that brings the essence of the East to the heart of London while preserving the elegance of the Ivy brand.

Really enjoyed this visit. For starters there is a cloakroom as you come in, so no coats on the back of chairs. The decor is stunning. Everything about this restaurant is lovely. Good service, tasty food and nice vibe. Not the cheapest but reckon the experience of eating there is worth it. Presentation was excellent - lots of dry ice! Would definitely return with a group. Few minutes walk from St Paul's station.

The food was nice but I won't be coming back. I could get the same food (flavour and experience) in a yo sushi. Our waitress wasn't very attentive and rolled her eyes when I didn't move over for her to collect glasses (I didn't know she was there) the table was small for a table of 6 and this wasn't helped by our waitress not taking plates away when our next dish arrived, and was left to the waiters who brought out the food. The music was way too loud which ruined the atmosphere and forget trying to have a conversation with the person next to me (let alone the rest of the table) The 'DJ' kept playing the same 3 songs over and over. It would have been better to stay home, and order a cheap Thai and Chinese from the local.

The atmosphere and decor at The Ivy are truly impressive, with the stunning view of St. Paul’s Cathedral adding to the experience. However, the food fell short of expectations. For starters, I had the prawn tempura, which was just okay, followed by the duck and lobster fried rice. Unfortunately, the duck was dry and tough, and the dish lacked flavor—definitely not something I’d order again. A bigger issue arose when my friend, who doesn’t like spicy food, specifically asked the waiter if the prawn curry was spicy at all. She was assured that the spice was only decorative, yet the dish turned out to be quite spicy. Even as someone who enjoys a bit of heat, I can confirm it had a definite kick. We left with a hefty bill and empty stomachs, as none of us were satisfied with our meals. There was no follow-up from the staff, despite the fact that most of our food remained untouched. Perhaps the sushi and cold dishes are a better bet, as they looked more appealing, but after this disappointing experience, I don’t think I’d return. I had high expectations for my first visit, but sadly, it didn’t live up to them.

My two friends and I spent a few hours having the most amazing lunch at Ivy Asia St Paul’s yesterday, 4 March. The location is lovely in the shadow of St Paul’s and once inside the decor is stunning! We were looked after the whole time by Tanim who was so courteous and professional, explaining all the dishes we had ordered from the Premium Set Menu, he was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble! The food & beverage was next level, the menu was amazing, so tasty and all served beautifully. All in all, a great experience and thoroughly recommend.

I wanted to take a moment to share my wonderful experience celebrating my birthday at your restaurant. It was the perfect venue for a special occasion—the decor was absolutely stunning, including even the toilets, which added to the luxurious atmosphere. The service was exceptional, and I’d especially like to commend our waiter, Ema. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the evening even more enjoyable. In terms of food and drinks, I particularly loved the Popcorn Shrimp and the Sakura & Lychee Martini—both were delicious, and I would highly recommend them to others. Thank you for making my celebration so special. I look forward to returning soon!

So...it's still beautiful and the food is still very good, but please could you start letting your servers write down the order; there are too many mistakes. I go here regularly for work lunches, and to be honest, one glitch is too many when the odds of getting it right can be so easily increased.

Beautiful food, lovely atmosphere, incredible decor and lovely service - what more could you want?! It’s a bit expensive and has definitely gone up in price but this was a beautiful way to spend a Monday. It definitely feels more like a special occasion venue so would recommend for birthdays, anniversaries or anything special, even just to treat yourself ❤️ Would highly recommend the sesame prawn toast, pork & kimchi gyoza and chicken robata (not pictured because it was too tasty) 🙈 Gather your crew, book a table and thank me later x

My partner and I had a wonderful experience yesterday, as we sat by the window with the amazing views of St Paul’s Cathedral. The staff from beginning to end were friendly, attentive and made us feel very comfortable. The food was fantastic and so enjoyable with nice spacing between each courses. As it was my partner's Birthday, your team had this spotted by her rosette that she was wearing and they even brought out a little treat too - which made her feel very special indeed! You have a great place with lots of cool features that make the place feel warm and welcoming. We loved it! We’ll certainly be telling our friends and family about your lovely restaurant and we’d love to come back again! Thank you
